A floating stage, resembled a giant book on Lake Constance in Bregenz, Austria can be considered as the biggest book on earth. However, the giant book of Lake Constance can only be seen during Quantum of Solace festival each year. The festival has become renowned for its unconventional staging of shows. The example of its strange opera show was Verdi’ s opera “A Masked Ball” in 1999 featured a giant book being read by a skeleton.

Atomium is a stunning monument designed by the engineer Andre Waterkeyn for the International Exhibition of Brussels, that took place here in 1958. The Atomium, which is a structure that is half way between sculpture and architecture, symbolising a crystallised molecule of iron by the scale of its atoms, magnified 150 thousand million times.

Can you believe people can actually surf not only on the beach, but also on the land? 14 meters high, and 110m long, the face of Wave Rock appears ready to crash onto pre-historic surf, now frozen in time. Believed to have formed over 2700 million years ago, Wave Rock is part of the northern face of Hyden Rock and this amazing nature sculpture is located at Perth, Australia. Have you ever heard of Crooked House at Sopot Poland? Different from Athens’ New Acropolis Museum, this awesomely unusual building was designed by architect Szotnyscy Zaleski and built in 2004. While many not know, Zaleski was inspired by the unbelievable work of Polish artist Jan Marcin Szancer, a fantasy and children’s literature illustrator when designing the building. Japan has a lot of weird celebration events. One of them is Hadaka Matsuri or well known as “The Naked” Festival. The Hadaka Matsuri is about purifying the soul, but most people remember it because of what the men wear: Fundoshi, or traditional Japanese laincloths. The event is particularly famous because there is one completely naked man hidden in and among a crowd of 10000 men. Shinto tradition has it that the naked man absorbs all bad luck and evil deeds from the men who touch him. Below are the photos of the Hadaka Matsuri event in Japan.
