Umbria the Green Heart of Italy: Blog and Photos

| February 6, 2009

Everybody knows that the region of Umbria is notably known as Italy’s green heart. Being east to the very well known region of Tuscany, Umbria, which is located in the center of Italy, has many wonderful hill towns and great place for food and wine. However, things that do attract tourists to come are its wonderful and stunning green landscape of the region.

Considering you have a car, you might consider staying in the countryside or a village. There is a specific place in Umbria where I suggest you to accommodate yourself, called Villa Orvieto. The stone and bricks villa is surrounded by splendid renaissance cathedral and beautiful private lake for you to swim during summer. The price for staying is also very reasonable and will be cheaper during promotion offer.

If Villa Orvieto is not your family preference, another magnificent place for you to visit in Umbria is Le Mimose Villa, which located at village of Massa Martana (only 4km distance). This 19th century villa is a very charming and beautiful with nice period features including fireplaces, beamed ceilings cotta floors and wine cellar.

This piece of info only gives you some of suggestions on where to stay in the area. You can find out more about these places and activities in Palmer and Parker Villa Holidays. Here are some good photos in Umbria:

Staying in a villa during vacation is the experience everyone should have. Both the villas, Villa Orvieto and Le Mimose are so beautiful. It will be a privilege to stay in a historic villa.
